House Rules

So… I’ve made my first post and now I’m back to establish some house rules. How do you guys like the website? I know it kinda looks like bunk but I was just having some fun with the site editor. I’ve been playing around with the blocks and such, drawing inspiration from lithub.com and etymonline.com. I have plans for fixing it up a bit but not too much, I want my site to have personality, not just looks like any corpo blog. But lets forget that and begin.

  1. No Negativity.
    • This blog is a positive space, that means strict limits on complaining, ranting, and venting. Sometimes life sucks, but that doesn’t mean I need to inundate strangers with the paltry woes of a plebeian. That means no cursing as well.
  2. Posting Once a Week
    • Unless I am sick, I intend to post a minimum of once a week. Right now, as my writing hands are reborn (or I guess I should say typing hands), my brain is brimming with new and whimsical post ideas but I have to resist the overflowing of nonsensical ideas onto the page. I will limit myself to a maximum of 2 posts a week. This ensures I don’t lose steam after making 50 posts in a month and my quota should help maintain the “quality” of my posts – quality over quantity.
  3. No AI
    • This one should be easy but NO AI. No use of AI writing for me, reviewing my writing, generating ideas, generating images, nothing. I am not “anti-AI”, AI’s have their place and they have applications in making the world a better place. LLMs and generative AI are terrible for the environment, promote brainrot and slop, and detract from the human experience while making billionaires who despise you rich (Yes you! The CEO of Campbell Soup hates your undulating guts).
  4. Limit Media Reviews
    • This one is a tough one because I want to review and recommend sooooo many movies and albums but the world is filled with enough wannabe critics. My goal is to dissect media within a thesis – a transformative manner that analyses themes across media instead of critiquing any individual media as a whole. I will only review individual films, television, books, or music if I truly feel they are underrated gems that the world would benefit from knowing about. Nobody needs another review of Rocky.
  5. All Posts Will have an Image
    • I will only use images that I have taken or that I am certain are not AI
  6. Only 5 rules? Dang, I really thought I had more planned, oh well

I went back and reread my first post, I am actually very proud with how it turned out. For my next post, I will probably make a long winded explanation for why I, specifically me, choose to be good, to do good. Because being a good person, like all things in life, is a choice. And oftentimes it is not the easy choice.

If you are reading this, I hope you are doing good, and if you are not reading this, I hope you are doing better.

If you enjoyed my post, leave a comment. Let me know what you want to read next. Likes and views are always cool but if you can prove you are not a bot that would make my day
